The Colour Green

After last night’s decision to enter the world of fashion bloggers, I thought it was only apt to post a new blog today. As you can see from the blog the colour scheme is green. Green is my all-time favourite colour, perhaps due to my green eyes?! All shades of green appeal to me: from emerald green to khaki.

Different shades of green were seen on many of the Spring 2013 Runway shows and to quote Harper’s Bazaar ‘earlier this year Pantone announced emerald green as the official colour of 2013 and there are a range of chic good-luck-hued options.’ Burberry showcased a new colour – mint metallic green – which gave the show a futuristic edge with its sheen and texture. The Acne show was also filled with emerald green in block colour together with black and white. The clothes also have a futuristic and geometric feel to them.

This skirt from the Acne runway show is perfect for my wardrobe – it is over the knee and voluminous, another trend of 2013, and the design and craftsmanship are extremely special. I would wear it with a white t-shirt or shirt to complete the look with accessories kept to a minimum to keep all the focus on the skirt.  It can be found at www.my-wardrobe.com together with this amazing leather jacket straight from the runway.

Sportmax had many catwalk looks with green in it and like Acne had geometric shapes in block colour together with black and white. I have been a fan of the sleek silhouettes and clean lines showcased by Sportmax for many years and this collection is no different. The way Sportmax are able to mix different fabrics together seamlessly is amazing and the tailoring is pure perfection. I am currently lusting after this dress that was shown on the catwalk cinched in with a black leather belt. It can be found on www.my-wardrobe.com together with many other catwalk looks including wearable knitwear with added interest in shape and texture.

So literally go Green with Envy. What will you splurge on?
