The Trainer Trend Revival

I have just rediscovered my Hogan high-tops that I purchased last year for taking my baby on long walks and I am loving them for both their practicality and their current trend revival. Due to the weather being in between seasons I decided that it was too hot for boots but I didn't want to wear my ballet flats just yet. And having read last weeks Grazia magazine article, I decided to start wearing them again and I'm hooked. I wore them all day yesterday without taking them off once and my feet didn't hurt at all. They are super comfortable. So comfortable that I am on the search for the perfect pair for summer. To help decide which trainers to choose from I have searched the stores and fashion websites and decided that the following are my top 5. Seeing as we have Isabel Marant to thank for the revival of the trainer with her designs which bring some femininity to them, I felt it is only fitting to give her the no.1 hotspot.

1. Isabel Marant - Bobby wedge trainers, £370, currently sold out on My Theresa and Matches

2. Miu Miu Glitter finished high-top sneakers, £335, available at NET-A-PORTER
3. Hogan High-top Sneaker, £255, available at www.hogan.com
4. Isabel Marant The Bekett printed canvas and suede wedge sneakers, £370, and are exclusive to NET-A-PORTER
5. Lorena by Carvela Kurt Geiger £95 at www.kurtgeiger.com

For great tips on how to wear your trainers be sure to check out Grazia Daily's article Sneaker Sales are Booming:Here's Four Ways to Wear Them NOW. If you know of any other amazing trainers please leave a comment and let me know!

Now the question remaining is which pair should I choose?

Modest Dressing Olivia Palermo Style

I have always loved Olivia Palermo's style. Ever since she was on The City she has been on my fashion radar; even though she wasn't always shown in the best light. Nevertheless there's no denying her style - she oozes style and elegance. There's something about the way she makes her looks seem so effortless even when they have so many different elements to them. Olivia always manages to amaze me with her mix of different prints and textures worn together and how she chooses to dress modestly - she usually covers her elbows, knees and collarbone. In fact I would even say that The Midi, one of our 2013 trends, is one of her fashion staples. She demonstrates how we don't have to show a lot of skin in order to be fashionable and trendy.

I also have an enormous amount of respect for her due to the fact that she isn't afraid to re-wear items in her wardrobe! Most celebrities in the public eye wear a look only once which, although exciting, simply isn't practical! Whilst Olivia has a love for the high-end designers (don't we all?!) she also shops at high-street brands and is often seen out in Zara, Reiss, Whistles and Topshop which makes her and her looks so much more accessible for us. Her love for accessories is inspirational and is key to her looks - from her statement necklaces to her belts worn either with skirts or cinching in her jackets. She always gets it right and keeps her look fresh!

Olivia Palermo has to be my all time fashion icon. She does modest dressing so well and seeing as that is how I dress I would love to raid or even go through her closet! She is definitely someone who I look at for style tips, especially via her style blog www.oliviapalermo.com.  What do you all think of her style?
